This study assumes that to elucidate recognition of the times is one of the purposes in Seiichi Hatano. This paper primarily investigates recognition of tradition and secondarily deals with recognition of the occupation a situation. As seen through his life, the characteristics of a Christian are slightly weak in the recognition of the times in Hatano. However, if he had continued writing as he did after evacuating to Tohoku during the war, he might have become more widely accepted.
