The subject of this thesis is the transition of the concepts of 'nature' (in Japanese SIZEN )in modern Japan and its ehical meaning. The concept of nature is one of the most important concepts in Japanese philosophy and ethics. What we can not miss in thinking about it is the difference between the semantic content of historical "nature" and modern Western "nature" view.
